Who are Bay FM’s audience ?

 BayFM’s primary service area reaches over 312,000 across Redlands Coast, all of Brisbane’s Bayside and SE Brisbane suburbs corridor.

Nevertheless , with the only transmitter on Mt Cotton, BayFM and its highly popular Just Great Music format reaches many, many more , with reach coverage across most of greater Brisbane, to edge of Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and as far west to Toowoomba.

CBAA Ingenuity research indicates BayFM captures greater than 20% of primary reach market, and furthermore, has extensive time spent listening ( longer periods tuned to BayFM) …greater than some of the major commercial networks. 

Indeed BayFM has experienced huge growth, particularly in past 15 months …with BayFM receiving listener calls constantly across our greater region.

 

BAYFM Target audience age group/ Demographics

 The music and entertainment mix of 70’s , 80’s and 90’s , captures principally adult audiences, aged from late 30’s to mid, later 60’s.

BayFM ‘s core audience are home owners, still working, self employed , employed or semi retired.

Of course BayFM also offers specific feature programs for younger adults at nights, and more mature retired audiences on Sunday evenings.

Standard Costs

 As part of Bay FM’s charter , despite experiencing immense growth, sponsor tariff rates have been retained to present low levels

$12.00 for 15 second spots plus gst

$17.60 for 30 second spots plus gst

 *BCRA board have advised a tariff increase is likely latter this year, although all sponsors bookings prior to rate increase will be “rate protected” for durations of bookings.

How to manage effective Campaigns ?

Radio media is a frequency media , which essentially means marketing effectiveness is driven by ‘frequency of spots ‘ aired each week.

Generally effective campaigns achieve greatest success when messages are programmed 20 or more times per week.

Longer duration campaigns of 6 months or greater can be very effective on lesser frequency , with as little as 2 spots aired per day, once message is established.

All above campaigns include all copy and production costs . Copy created subject to your briefing requirements (key points) and production using in house BayFM voice overs.

By all means , you may choose to use your own external commercial production of spots ( at your cost) , and supply accordingly.

General rule of thumb, 15 second campaigns include 30 words, 30 second campaigns 60 words. (2 words per second) 30 second campaigns of course provide more opportunity to detail products and services.
